I have skippered over 6000 miles of offshore sailing (all with only one or two crew) on my 38 ft. Ollier designed catamaran as I sailed it from the S. of France to the Canaries, the Canaries to Puerto Rico and P.R to Florida. I also have 3 years of experience racing beach cats (Hobie 16 and others), and have spent 3 weeks sailing solo on a 16 ft. Playcat in the San Juans and the B.C. Gulf Islands. I have a Wilderness First Responder certification and teach Wilderness Adv. First Aid. I have also spent a lot of time mountaineering (including in Alaska and Pakistan), so I definitely understand the art of suffering and believe that it doesn't have to be fun, to be 'fun'!
