Just retired, finally have time to do the race again. I have participated in three Pacific Cups, two as skipper of my own boat, Aldebaran, a C&C 48, (average time 12 days 14 minutes), and one as crew on an Outbound 44, (we took longer). Over 40 thousand miles of blue water experience and smart enough to know there is still lots more to learn, and, as a skipper, how important it is to be able to follow orders as well as to give them. All round boat skills, navigation, tactics, mechanical engineer and satellite expert, lousy cook but can provide excellent wine.
