We draw exactly 7' but may be slightly lower in the water due to extra equipment.  Is this too close to the margin of error to get in, or is it dependent on the tide?

Thanks,

Sampan Channel

We have not yet taken depth soundings on the base of the Sampan Channel.....we'll do that before you get here.  In the past, we have found nothing less than 8'.  I have no doubt that you will be fine coming in Sampan Channel.  First of all, we will have no sub-zero tides during Pacific Cup.  Keep in mind that the Sampan Channel is all sand....no coral heads, etc.  Also, the most shallow part of the channel is at the very end where it joins the Main Ship Channel.  We will know the tide when you arrive and would not put you in a dangerous situation.  The only boats that would be questionable and tide-dependent for coming in Sampan Channel would be those with a draft of 8' or more.  I would say plan on coming in Sampan!  You can also discuss your choice with your escort boat when you arrive.

Have a safe and fun trip!
