Have big spinnakers, looking for big boat

I'm signed on to navigate an X-402, but the boat's participation has become questionable so I'm back in the market for a crew spot for 2012 Pac Cup.

I've navigated and/or watch captained 15 races to Hawaii, starting with the first ever Pac Cup in 1980. Sailing C.V. is at http://www.well.com/user/pk/resume.html.

I also come with four very large spinnakers, from the old Frers 58 Swiftsure (my ride in '82, '85 and '87). The spinnakers are sized for a 79 ft x 25 ft foretriangle. There's one of each weight: 0.5, 0.75, 1.5 and 2.2. The 0.75 is in good condition, the others old but usable.

Spinnakers frequently become the "consumable" fuel of any Hawaii race, and it's a great competitive edge to have a few that you don't mind trashing - it allows a much more aggressive approach to the squalls.

Also talk to me about emergency rudders, if you haven't built one already. My designs are cheap, light and effective.

email pk@well.com, or talk to me at the seminar this Sunday, January 29.
