GET OUT THERE
With the understanding that many OYRA racers participate in the Pacific Cup and are unable to compete in the entire season, and that boats doing Pacific Cup need a place to practice, the OYRA has selected our first five races of 2012 to be a Pacific Cup prep series.
The races are:
- March 17th Lightship Race
- April 14th Farallones Race
- April 28th Duxbury Lightship Race
- June 9th Drakes Bay Race (a chance to spend a night on the boat, anchor if you want!)
- June 10th Drakes Bay Race (return)
Any boat in the Pac Cup Prep Series that is done with their preparations can go on the Half Moon Bay Race on June 30th for no additional entry fee as a single race competitor.
The entry fee for the series is $150 and you need to sign up as a YRA member if you are not already.
If that is too much of a commitment you can sign up for races one at a time for $50 per race.
Don’t let the Pac Cup be the first time you get out beyond the ship channel!
OYRA is having a season kickoff party on March 8th at 1900 at Berkeley Yacht Club. If you are unsure if you want to do the races come to the party and ask lots of questions. You’ll still have time to sign up after the party.
Deadline to sign up for the series or an individual race is the Monday before the race at 5pm.
