There are two kinds of charts for each day of racing. The "position charts" show each yacht's position on the race course. Various displays enable you to see the whole fleet, divisions or individual boats. The "track charts" show the course of the yachts in a variety of ways. The viewer-selectable displays allow you to make comparisons among boats you choose. Each day's data are collected by the communication vessel Steeves and transmitted to shore via SailMail or Inmarsat C. The data will then be emailed to the website for processing and publishing. As published in the Communications Plan, the roll call will commence at 0900 PDT. It will take roughly an hour to complete the collection and confirmation of the data. Then it will take about an hour to email the data to our processing center. Add another hour of CPU time (we have a ton of charts to prepare!) and you can expect the presentations (charts and tables) to be ready by about 1200 noon PDT. And if anything goes wrong we will try to get the charts posted my 0300 PM PDT at the latest. Tracks for the communication vessel Steeves are included with the tracks for Division A. If you would like to follow the progress of Steeves look for those tracks there.
